Clinic Physician to speak on plant-based diet and heart disease

The Rochester Area Vegetarian Society is pleased to announce that Caldwell
Esselstyn, M.D. will be speaking in Rochester. Dr. Esselstyn conducted a
20-year study establishing that lifestyle changes can prevent and even reverse
heart disease. The results of his study have been published in The Journal of
Family Practice, The American Journal of Cardiology, and Preventive
Cardiology. His 2007 book Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease
sets forth his program and contains 200 delicious recipes.
WHAT: Lecture by Caldwell Esselstyn, M.D. on "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease"
WHEN: Monday, March 31, 2008; 7:00 PM
WHERE: Brighton Town Hall, 2300 Elmwood Ave., 1st floor Auditorium. Parking at
front and rear of building; handicapped entrance at rear.

Dr. Esselstyn was a member of the Olympic Gold Medal-winning U.S. rowing team in
1956. He had a distinguished career as a surgeon before deciding to turn his
